The new housing on Achamore Road comprises 50 units, while the £3M project was achieved working in partnership with Persimmon Homes.

The site is on a steep but important road frontage which raised a number of complex design issues that had to be overcome in order to achieve a cost effective solution.

The main frontage is composed as a series of stepped blocks which are linked, visually, by non stepping render panels to adjacent houses. Attention was also paid to the highly visible rear facades in order to achieve an integrated design.

A new children’s play area was incorporated as an integral part of the development, funded partially by the Visual Arts Project. The play area was designed by artist Tassy Thomson, working closely with MAST, local community groups, schools, children and parents.
