Further to the completion of a feasibility study undertaken for Parkhead HA to look at options for a new office / extension, MAST prepared detailed design proposals to tender stage.

The concept behind the new open plan office extension was to create a series of bays for workstations between which would be circulation. This formal arrangement would then be reflected on the floor and ceiling finishes.

A storage wall with integrated filing rails and shelving was also proposed linking old with new.

Particular importance and close attention to detailing was being placed on the design of the new reception and waiting area to ensure this has impact while being welcoming to visitors.

The new extension was designed in order to comply with the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act.

Unfortunately due to funding constraints the office element of the project was not progressed with new build housing developed as an alternative and completed in 2007.
